The Tyamine® coating is an exclusive proprietary amorphous carbon formulation developed for maximum durability. Through a high-voltage electrochemical process, the titanium case is enclosed in a unique layer of ceramic oxide. An intricate layering of graphite and diamond structures form a swirling pattern across the surface of the case. This unique layering retains the lightness of titanium but a surface as hard as diamond.

4 weeks Raw Grade 5 titanium.

Military Grade, grade 5 titanium is ordered from a production facility in Japan. However, there are only a handful of authorised manufactures of Grade 5 titanium in the world due to its complexity and military use.

1 week Cutting the titanium to size.

Grade 5 titanium is received in a 1-meter x 1-meter, 4cm thick plate, weighing 180KG. This plate is cut into smaller pieces suitable for machining using Wire EDM, an unconventional 15 / 48 form of machining, using an electrical current to melt and vaporise material for exact and clean cuts with minimal material loss.

8 weeks CNC process.

Over eight weeks, every edge and facet of the case is precision machined within a tolerance of 0.05mm. due to the complexity of the Aventi case, this cannot be done in an automatic milling machine. Skilled engineers must individually position, calibrate and observe each pass of the CNC machine. To ensure the accuracy of each cut, each calibration requires a minimum of 4 hours of measuring and checking and each cut can require multiple calibrations.

2 weeks Creating Grade 5 titanium, as strong as diamonds

The titanium case is heated to 150°C (300°F) to remove all moisture. This piece undergoes an ion bombardment to remove any micro oxides on its surface. The piece is secured to a rotating carousel and sealed into an airtight chamber to begin the coating process. Hydrogen gas carrying our proprietary carbon formula is introduced into the chamber and ionised by auxiliary high-voltage electrical anodes, causing the carbon and hydrogen atoms to split. An electrical charge passed through the case pulls the carbon onto the surface creating a cobblestone of diamond and graphite, carbon structures.

Machined from grade 5 titanium, one of the strongest yet lightest metals available, within a tolerance of 0.01mm. Every component slots perfectly into the case to create a watertight seal resistant to 50 meters.
